Senmonorom, also spelled as Senmonorom or Sen Monorom, is a small rustic and frontier-like atmosphere, often drawing comparisons to old American western frontier towns. This unique character makes it an interesting destination for travellers interested in exploring less urbanized areas of Cambodia.
The Elephant Valley Project is an important initiative located near Senmonorom. This project is an elephant sanctuary dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of captive working Asian elephants. It provides a safe and natural environment for these elephants to live in, free from the demands of labour and exploitation. I had the opportunity to learn about the elephants and support their well-being through responsible tourism activities.
